Local conversations stay local. We do not automatically receive your prompts, replies, saved chat history or downloaded model files. A response excerpt is shared only if you choose to submit an in-app report. The current test build signs you in locally without creating a hosted account.
Who this notice covers
This notice applies to Offline AI Chat, its mobile app and offlineaichat.net, provided by Neu Software LLC. For privacy questions or requests, contact us through offlineaichat@neu.so.
What stays on your phone
The app stores downloaded AI models, conversations, model preferences and device compatibility information locally. You can turn off saved history, clear conversations, export them and delete downloaded models. We cannot remotely retrieve or erase local conversations. Your device’s security and any copies you export are under your control.
Information used by connected features
- Website and catalog requests: hosting providers process connection details such as IP address, request time, browser or app information, and requested URLs to deliver and protect the service.
- Model downloads: files come from their listed publishers or hosting providers, including Hugging Face. Those providers receive the connection information needed to serve a file. Your conversation is not part of that download request.
- Accounts, where enabled: we process your name, email address, password hash or provider identity, and session information to operate your account. We do not store plaintext passwords.
- Purchases, where enabled: the app store and our subscription provider process purchases. We use account identifiers and entitlement information to recognise your plan; we do not receive your complete payment-card details. Purchases are not enabled in the current automatic-Plus test build.
- Support, deletion and response reports: we receive the email address, request type and message you submit through our website. If you voluntarily report an AI response inside the app, we receive only the response excerpt you review, its model ID and your selected reason. Your other messages are not included, and no account is needed to report. Include only information needed to help you; do not send passwords or private chat history.
Why we use this information
We use information to deliver requested services, manage accounts and plans where enabled, respond to support and privacy requests, prevent misuse and meet legal obligations. Where data-protection law requires a lawful basis, these purposes rely on performing our agreement with you, our legitimate interests in running and securing the service, compliance with legal duties, or your consent where required.
Providers and international processing
Cloudflare delivers this website and DNS services. Our API currently runs on a Hetzner server in Finland. Model hosts, email providers and any enabled sign-in or payment providers process information needed for their features under their own terms. Providers may process information in other countries. Where applicable, we use the transfer safeguards offered by those providers. We do not sell your personal information or use your conversations to train a hosted model.
Cookies and diagnostics
This website does not install advertising trackers or an optional analytics SDK. Hosting providers may use essential security mechanisms. App stores may provide their own crash and testing reports. We do not automatically attach your conversations to diagnostics.
How long information is kept
Local data remains until you remove it from the app or device. Hosted account data remains while the account is active, unless a legal requirement requires otherwise. Session credentials expire after 30 days. Support, deletion requests and response reports remain while being handled; resolved requests are removed from the active database after 30 days. API backups rotate after seven days, so deleted records may remain in restricted backups for that period. We use voluntary response reports to review model availability and improve content safeguards. Technical logs are limited in size and retained only as needed for operations and security; provider retention may differ.
Your choices and rights
You can use the app’s local data controls and request access, correction or deletion of information held by us. Depending on applicable law, you may also have rights to portability, restriction, objection, or withdrawing consent. Visit Delete account or contact us through offlineaichat@neu.so. We may need to verify your identity. You may raise a concern with your local data-protection authority.
Children and changes
The service is intended for adults aged 18 and over. Follow the age requirements of your app store and applicable law. If you believe a child has provided personal information to us, contact us so we can investigate. We update this page when our practices change and identify the latest revision above.
